Medical Transportation Driver

To provide safe transportation services to registered Lubicon Lake Band members to their medically required health services/facilities in a professional, efficient, and timely manner.

Responsibilities

• Each vehicle shall be inspected daily by the driver before and after each shift. The driver shall check the vehicle by walking around fully to give an eye inspection, paying detail to tires and ensure all lights are in working order and all fluid levels are up.
• Any defect shall be reported immediately to the Health Director
• All items carried within or on the van will be properly secured before travelling on the road.
• Report all incidents.
• Always drive at or below posted speed limits, never above the posted speed limits.
• ensure that company vehicles contain safety flares, first aid kits, fire extinguishers and flashlights.
• Any shortages are to be reported to the office immediately and missing equipment will be replaced.
• Ensure appropriate use of adult and child restraints (car seats, seat belts.
• Keep vehicle always clean, disinfecting the van when needed or required.
• Sign in and out before and after each shift.
• Maintain complete confidentiality.
• All logbooks, daily trip reports, hours of service records, repair and fuel receipts shall be handed into the office.
• Ensure that all maps and road conditions are investigated before leaving on a trip.

Experience, Knowledge and Skills

• Must have exceptional verbal and written skills.
• Must be able to provide clear, precise information to clients.
• Must be able to speak and understand the Cree Language

Education and Qualifications

• Minimum of Grade 10
• Remaining impartial and composed when dealing with aggressive individuals.

Additional Requirements

• Must have a valid driver’s license, class 1 or 4.
• Must have or obtain within a months of hire First Aid/ CPR certification and maintain.
• Transportation of Dangerous Goods (if applicable)
